How to install Microsoft WORD into HUDplus
Step 1: Install the word program. The name of the executable file for word is "winword.exe".
Step 2: Locate where on your computer winword.exe was installed: Click on Start > Search> Files or Folders> In the top field type in winword.exe Leave the middle field blank, and make sure the third field searches the correct drive. Usually it is local hard drives (C:). Click on search. In a few moments, the results area should show which folder or folders contain the winword.exe file. While the file may be found in several folders, only one is significant. Examine the value(s) shown in the "in folder" column. Normally winword is installed in a folder named "c:\program files\microsoft office\office11".
Step 3: Set the windows path statement: Click on Start: Control Panel: System: Click on the Advanced tab; Environment Variables; In the lower box, click on a variable called "path". Click on the Edit button. At the end of the path statement, type in a semi-colon, then type in the value determined in step 2 above. Click on ok, and close out all the windows back to the start button.
Step4: Tell HUDplus which word processor to use: Get into HUDplus. Select Config: System. Tap page up to page 9 of 9. Tap enter to accept the value in line one. For line one, select Continue without Testing to get to line two. For line two, type in "WINWORD.EXE" Do not type in the quote marks. Tap Enter to accept this value. Select TEST. After a slight pause, the Microsoft Word program should start. Close it, answer "yes the program started correctly". Tap ESC back to the main menu of HUDplus. Word is now installed.
